Message from the Food Pantry

***COVID-19 Update***

We would like to take a minute to “talk” about the impacts on the Georgina Community Food Pantry.
1. This week, we changed our distribution process. We are offering pre-packaged bags and are distributing them out the front entrance. We are honouring social distancing with our volunteers and our clients. This practice will continue until further notice. If you are a client, please ensure that you practice safe methods to receive your package (e.g. wash your hands well, only send one person per family, do not come if you are not feeling well, etc.)
2. We understand that there are job losses, reduced wages, etc. being experienced by an increased number of members in our community. Please know that you can reach out to us for support, even if you have not used our services in the past. We are here to help you.
3. We need to continue to receive donations during this difficult time. Although our pantry is not open to receive donations, the local grocery stores are. Please consider purchasing extra items when you are shopping. Our clients are especially grateful for the items that sustain them for longer (e.g. 1 min Quaker Oats, 1kg. rice, peanut butter, etc.)
4. Financial donations are welcomed (and encouraged). This allows for every one to respect social distancing AND for us to purchase preferred items in bulk. We do have a PayPal account for donations. Every little bit helps. Especially during these times.
In the end, we are here to support you for as long as we possibly can. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send us a message.
Stay healthy.

United Church of Canada -A New Creed

We are not alone,
    we live in God’s world.

 We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
    who has come in Jesus,
       the Word made flesh,
       to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
       by the Spirit.

We trust in God.

We are called to be the Church:
    to celebrate God’s presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
    to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
       our judge and our hope.

In life, in death, in life beyond death,
    God is with us.
We are not alone.

Thanks be to God.

Sock it to us!

It’s time to keep those tootsies warm! Collecting men and women’s socks for “In from the Cold” The sock basket is at the back of the Church.
